I am passionate about music education and believe that getting the right guidance to help find your own answers will open a world of self expression and self discovery through the art of music. It is one thing to have the physical ability to play the instrument, and another thing to develop your own voice as a musician. We will look at developing both skills in parallel and ensure a healthy relationship with creativity in music is growing along side, while also maintaining an innocent exploration approach to the instrument.

The lessons will be tailored to your interests and can go in any direction that excites you!

For new players, we can look at the fundamentals like holding the sticks, different parts of the kit and how to play some basic beats, patterns and fills. We can also look at some basic music theory and go through the grades if you like, however this is not necessary to become a great player.

for experienced players, we can look at tightening up your playing by focusing on dynamic control, groove, feel, sound, chops etc. If you have any particular interests, we can for sure look at those to. My personal interests include advanced concepts like polyrhythms, metric modulation and odd time signatures. If you’d like to develop those skills, we are about to have a great time!
